About us
Legendary Communities is a new organization, founded on Chicago’s west side to create spaces and support for the resilient to share their stories of God and good in the world's hard places.
Our hope is that all who share in a story would thrive in greater unity with God and one another.
Legendary Communities is proud to coordinate the Rich in Faith project, sharing stories of faith in partnership with five urban ministries in Chicago.
What we do
Gathering small groups of like-minded people, Storytelling Seminars teach participants to share their stories. Using a trauma-informed curriculum that draws on Gospel parables, storytellers craft their own stories of true faith, sacrificial generosity, and long-awaited miracles.
Following Storytelling Seminars, Story Celebrations welcome authors to share with local family, friends, and neighbors. Sharing stories through written, artistic, or oral storytelling, these celebrations honor the authors’ work and bring neighbors together.
Legendary Communities partners with local youth arts organizations to showcase select stories via public murals. Artists design murals in collaboration with storytellers to share key themes of their stories. Local neighbors construct murals and install them in the storytellers’ local communities, providing greater honor and audience for their stories.
